Product Review – Lacelocker

My Neely Inspired Lacelockers

Did you know that for runners, double knotting your shoelaces is a death sentence for the sensitive nerves on the top of your foot? Well, I sure didn’t. It’s funny, though, that when I remove my sneakers after a run session, I swear I can actually still feel pressure in that spot where I double knot my laces!

What does it all mean? The folks over at Lacelocker must have been reading my mind, or at least my blog. They sent me a pair of their Lacelockers to test drive. This really is a unique products that works in more ways than one! Let me explain…

Lacelockers allows you to tie your laces in a single knot and have the confidence and security in knowing they will stay tied though your entire run.

What?!? Sound too good to be true? Well it’s knot! (<-pun on words there…LOL!)

Here’s the deal. It’s a multi-facetted velcro strip that attaches firmly to your shoe laces, allowing you to lock your laces into place.

You single knot them, then secure the ends in the Lacelocker. They remain tied, without the added pressure to the top of your foot.

Not only that, but they keep the ends of your laces out of your way. I, for one, always find that when I run, my laces, at times, slap up against my ankles. Every once in a while, it feels like I’m getting whipped across my skin…and it hurts! This nifty little product takes care of that problem as well. And if your laces aren’t whipping around, then they do not have the opportunity to come untied.

This is a “do it once and forget it” product. You won’t have to look down again at your laces before a race ever again and say, “Gosh, did I remember to double tie those babies?” Do it once, when you put your sneakers on…and forget it! So clever! The only downside…it does take a few extra seconds to get your shoes on and off. But it is a small price to pay, especially for those long runs or races when it is worth the added security of having and keeping those laces tied!
