The Very Blustery Day

So, tomorrow I’m supposed to run. I was hoping to escort the summer racing season out with a BANG on this one. It’s certainly not an easy run, as it winds about a river valley and has about a 750′ range or so, up and down, up and down, and up and down.

It seems that the jet stream has decided NOW is the time to dip her feet into the state of Minnesota. The wind has been howling all day. Since I am a meteorologist, I know that the winds typically diminish a bit in the morning hours. I’m just hoping they will long enough for me to get that run in. It’s a late start, too. 9AM. Most of the time, that is good for me. We’ll see how it goes.

I’ve been stretching and foam rolling the hammie, and I took it easy this week. I even skipped P90X Legs and Back today!  And I don’t really have a plan except to run it like my hill repeats this fall. Those worked well for me, and I have really been able to increase my endurance. That is where I lacked with this on last year.

I’m as ready as ever. The husband is coming along, and I think I have everything laid out, although I’ll pick up my packet in the morning since it is a smaller run. With temps near 50, it should be a comfy one, as well. Except for that dang wind.

Well, wish me luck! Here goes nothing.
