#RWRunStreak Day 12: Treadmill day 507…well, not REALLY.

How much longer can this go on? It isn’t even WINTER yet, and we haven’t been able to venture outdoors for over a week. Well, you can go outdoors, but there is NO where to run that is safe. It’s getting me down in more ways than one.

I’m determined this week to make it outside. Thursday, the temperature might actually climb above 10° with sunshine nonetheless! I’m SO there. That will be my long run day, for sure. In the meanwhile, I’m becoming very creative on the treadmill. I wonder if Runner’s World Magazine would be interested in my program! LOL!

Today, another run. Despite the fact that I ran an hour yesterday, and this morning was P90X Chest, Shoulder’s and Triceps, I still ran longer than I expected myself to. I’m thinking I’m becoming quite accustomed to this run streak thing. And my hamstring hasn’t felt this great in months. Clearly, things are looking up!

Here is just a sampling of what I’ve been doing on the treadmill.

Monday – #RWRunStreak Day 12:

Started at 5.5 mph. Increased pace by .1 mph every minute for entire run. Finished 4 miles at 33 minutes and 8.8 mph or a 6:82 pace.

Sunday – #RWRunStreak Day 11:

Minutes 1-5: Slowly increased from 5.5mph to 6mph
Minutes 5-10: 6.5 mph
Minutes 10-15: 7.0 mph
Minutes 15-20: 7.5 mph
Minutes 20-25: 6.5 mph
Minutes 25-30: 7.0 mph
Minutes 30-35: 7.5 mph
Minutes 35-40: Increased from 8.0 to 8.5 mph.

Ended with a 20 minute walk. Running alone was 4.71 miles.

Saturday – #RWRunStreak Day 10:

My plan was to run for 60 minutes…which I did. But for the life of me, I can’t remember what I did. I believe I just started at 5.5 mph and worked up to an 8:00 pace and stayed there. I do remember surging at the end for the final 5 minutes. It probably went like this:

Minutes 55-60: Increased from 8.0 to 8.5 mph.

Total mileage was 6.8. That sounds about right.

Friday – #RWRunStreak Day 9:

This was P90X Legs and Back day, so my plan was to take it easy.

3.6 miles beginning at 5.5 mph and working up to a 8.0 mph pace. I set the timer for 30 minutes and that is how far I got. The same as Wednesday…

Thursday – #RWRunStreak Day 8:

10 Miles. Read about it here. Took a cue from Matt Johnson at Runner Academy.

Wednesday – #RWRunStreak Day 7:

Another P90X day. This time Back and Biceps. I set the timer for 30 minutes and just ran, I think, starting at 5.5 and probably working my way up to an 8:00 pace. 3.6 miles total. I need to start writing these things down!

I have no doubt that tomorrow will be another treadmill day, but I’m holding out hope at week’s end to get OUT THERE. This can’t last forever…can it? In the meantime, I’m embracing the treadmill. It’s starting to become like an appendage. At least it is there, and it is helping me to even THINK about finishing this #RWRunStreak!

    I feel you on this weather! Most of our sidewalks haven’t been cleared yet and it’s too dangerous to run in the road so I’ve been banished to the treadmill all week. I like the workouts you’ve been doing! I try to mix it up while I’m on there too just to keep from getting too bored.

    I hope you can get outside today! I’m hoping to do the same. Awesome job with your streaking!

    I’ve been on the treadmill most days too! We’re getting a lot of snow and ice in Philly and I’m not used to running in this!
