Take Note – JournalMenu Review and #Giveaway

I know I’ve told you this before. I love lists.  I love to write lists. I love to write lists of things and put things in lists just so I can write. Actually, I probably just like to write.

The art of writing is a lost one. I find myself in the pen and ink section of Walmart, or Target, or Office Max just staring blankly at the endless pens and markers, wishing I could try them all. I hate it that when you find something that works, you fall in love. Then you go back to buy more and *poof*, they are gone. What is with that? Why do these pen companies have to make it all so difficult?

But enough about the pens, back to the lists. I need to become a more organized person, especially when it comes to training for runs and races. So many times, I find myself stretching my memory, trying to recall what I wore, what the temperature was, how I felt, what I ate, what my condition was, and how I felt afterward. Sure, my blog helps me with that. Dailymile does too, but it is difficult to search an actual “date” without scrolling forever back in time.

This is why when Erica approached me and asked me if I’d be interested in testing out a JournalMenu from her company of the same name, I jumped at the chance. With a marathon coming up at the end of May, and Chicago on the horizon for October, I wanted to be sure I was logging it all…from nutrition, to training, to just how I’m feeling!

A journal chock full of information.

I have gotten a very late start with my Minneapolis Marathon training. And to be quite honest, I haven’t committed to the full marathon yet because of my leg issues. But this WILL be my training journal for Chicago. I want to do this right, much like I did my training for the Twin Cities Marathon. This time, however, I’ll have an actual written log of the way it’s gonna be. This will include my new Ketogenic lifestyle and fat adapted running, so nutrition and food entries will be vital. Plus, recording weather conditions, clothing, and how I felt both physically and emotionally. I’m so excited to get started!

But, dare I say, if you are a “writer” as I am, you need to get yourself one of these journals. In fact, it would make a wonderful mother’s day gift! Just text JournalMenu.com to the kids and drop the hint…like a bomb. Sometimes, that is what it takes.

I am excited to announce that I’m allowed to give one of these babies away to a lucky reader of my blog! Just follow the rafflecopter link below and enter for YOUR chance to win! Don’t miss out on this one.

  1. Krisi Novak says:

After running my first half marathon last week, my next goal was to start writing again. This would be perfect.

  2. I’m a HUGE journal fan. My problem is actually writing in them. I buy and buy and buy and never open them up and write in them. I end up making tons of lists in notebooks, but don’t want to “mess up” the pretty journals. lol
