Yesterday was Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. Who knew? Since when does a chocolate chip cookie get it’s own “day”?

I don’t indulge in sugar, so for me, this is as insignificant as doughnut day. Blech. Don’t need ’em, don’t want ’em.

But a chocolate chip cookie? That might be nice, if I could figure out how to make it sugar free and healthy. And since you usually can’t eat just one, being able to make just a smackerel would be plus.

Coming up with a basic recipe is fine, but if you want to up your game, add a little protein. Then you have the perfect post workout treat. The easiest way is to add a bit of protein powder. It’s a great way to incorporate it into a recipe without having to lug down a protein shake. Of course, there is nothing wrong with a protein shake, if you are a shake kind of person. But if you give me the option instead to nosh on a cookie with a cup of bulletproof coffee, I’ll take that in a heart beat.
